Where we’ll meet
Public Dock
Shem Creek Park
Mount Pleasant, SC 29464
Just off Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant you’ll find Shem Creek Park, and plenty of parking spaces. At the pavilion, walk down the long boardwalk almost to the very end, then descend the ramp to the public dock.
Specific directions will be provided once you book.
What to know
Guests ages 8 and up are welcome aboard, up to 6 guests total.
No previous sailing experience is required. Guests are encouraged to relax and enjoy, and let the crew do the work. That said, any guest interested in a hands-on sailing experience will have the opportunity to help out.
Yes, there’s a toilet on board. Sorry, no swim stops, just sailing.
Tips for the crew are not obligatory,
of course, but welcomed.
What to bring
BYOB and BYOF.
Nennella will have water aboard and other beverages. She has an icebox you are welcome to use, and plenty of cups, glasses, utensils, and bottle openers.
Bring snacks, sandwiches, cheese plates, wine, whatever.
Bring a jacket or sweater on cooler days (October - April). We have extra jackets, two plush blankets and beanies on board.
I am generally on good terms with Zeus and Poseidon, but they sometimes pursue their agendas with little consideration for s/v Nennella, conjuring rain and lightning and waves that can hinder a safe and comfortable sailing experience. Should that come to pass, and should they ignore my pleas (which happens when they become overly distracted), I am obligated to stay out of their way. Should I be forced to cancel an excursion, I will refund you in full.
Since bad weather is a possibility, and since it’s difficult to know with certainty whether the weather will disrupt a sail, consider booking your excursion at the start or the middle of your stay in Charleston, and not on the last day. That way, we have a chance of rescheduling.

Cancellations
Cancel up to 7 days before the excursion start time for a full refund. Cancellations made less than a week before the sail will result in a 50% refund.
The captain reserves the right to cancel any excursion due to inclement weather, dangerous conditions, or unforeseen conflicts. In this case, guests will be notified and will receive a full refund.
